The Company : A manufacturer of industrial rubber power transmission products with a turnover of approximately Rs.10.0 crores

The Problem : Increase their global market share, particularly in the European Union.

Intervention Areas : Export audit under the CBI Export Development Programme

The Solution : The company having an ISO accredited manufacturing facility and a reasonable share of the domestic OEM market were interested in exporting their products to Europe. They already had some exposure to exports, but were keen to penetrate the European markets for their product. An audit was done of their entire manufacturing facility, that included their business plan, market knowledge, product design, plant & machinery, manufacturing methods, quality control, safety standards, packaging & personnel. A comprehensive SWOT is under preparation to enable the company to understand their exact position in relation to their aspiration and a timetable will be prepared based on an action plan to make up their weak areas. The objective of this excercise was to prepare the company to meet the expectations of the European market and eventually become a long term supplier to customers in Europe.
