Case Study #4

The Company : A software development company with negligible turnover, primarily involved in sending consultants to US on H1B visa.

The challenge : To develop a full fledged infrastructure in terms of manpower and other resources in India for off-shore development of software for the US market.

The Solution : The work involved building the infrastructure from ground-up to cater to the outsourcing requirement of business applications for the US and other markets. From a base of just 8 employees, the manpower resources were built up to 55 persons in various technologies. The process involved recruitment of a HR Manager, locating suitable office space, doing the interiors, setting up the hardware and software required for development, in place and defining HR policies. The challenge was also to train all the programmers regularly in the required technologies. Formation of teams based on project needs, liasing with on-site project managers and managing deliverables on schedule were the other challenges.

The Result : The company has been successfully executing large off-shore projects for clients from US. More than US $ 1 million worth of projects have already been done since then. The company has also successfully developed software products for both Indian and the US markets.
